Databricks Series A Pitch Deck
Seven data scientists and professors used this deck to pitch Ben Horowitz, cofounder of blue-chip VC firm Andreessen Horowitz, on a new data management company that would build the next generation of data analytics in 2013. Horowitz described the deck as one of the worst he's ever seen, although A16Z did ultimately lead the company's Series A round.
Ten years since (and billions in funding later), the Databricks platform is used by over 9,000 companies ranging from AT&T to Toyota. The company was valued at $38 billion in 2021, making it one of the world’s 10 most valuable startups.
