After seeing his brother’s anxious dog was being left untreated, Joe Spector launched Dutch in 2021. The Pet telemedicine service offers convenient and affordable pet healthcare including virtual consultations with licensed veterinarians, prescribing medications, and various membership plans with unlimited access.

The membership also includes free pet insurance – the Dutch Protector plan offers $10,000 of emergency insurance from Pets Best. This plan covers accident insurance for the first pet and offers virtual vet care for up to 5 pets within a household.

The company has raised multiple funding rounds and hopes to expand access to veterinary telehealth nationwide, invest in its electronic record management platform, and bring more vets to its platform full time.
