Kibo was an online school that offered a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. The school aimed to provide a world-class education in computer science and help students build a global network. The curriculum was designed to be rigorous and focused on real-world projects rather than exams.
The school was based in New York but had a global network of mentors and employers. In 2022, the company raised $2 million in a seed round led by venture capital firm Neo, bringing its total funding to $2.4 million. Despite this financial backing, Kibo School announced in June 2024 that it would shut down its operations, including its computer science degree program, due to challenges in achieving financial sustainability.
