Loom was founded in 2016 by Joe Thomas, Shahed Khan, and Vinay Hiremath to empower everyone at work to communicate more effectively wherever they are. Loom's video messaging tool enables asynchronous communication by allowing users to record their camera, microphone, and desktop simultaneously.

Since then, Loom has grown to reach more than 21 million people across 200,000 companies, including names like Disney, Amazon, Walmart, Nordstorm, Gap, Atlassian & more. Atlassian announced in October 2023 that it acquired Loom for $975 million.
