Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Santiago, Chile, PhageLab has developed a platform using epidemiological diagnostics to achieve effective bacterial population control, based on over a decade of data collection.
The company has a microbial bioinformatics platform that uses AI to develop "customised cocktails" to manage pathogenic bacteria in livestock and reduce antibiotic dependence. They have a product called INSPEKTOR that reduces Salmonella and E. coli in broiler chicken farms. PhageLab is also developing products for infectious diarrhea in pigs.
As of February 2025, PhageLab has raised a total of $45 million across various funding rounds including $30 million in a Series A round as well as a €100,000 grant from The Yield Lab.
