On December 1, 2020, Slack and Salesforce announced an agreement for Salesforce to acquire the company, marking one of the most significant tech acquisitions at that time. The acquisition was completed on July 21, 2021. Under the terms of the agreement, Slack shareholders received $26.79 in cash and 0.0776 shares of Salesforce common stock for each Slack share, representing an enterprise value of approximately $27.7 billion based on the closing price of Salesforce’s common stock on November 30, 2020.
