Sateliot is a Spanish satellite telecommunications operator that is deploying a network of low Earth orbit nanosatellites to provide 5G-NB-IoT connectivity. The company aims to provide seamless global IoT connectivity, even in areas lacking terrestrial cellular coverage, using 5G protocols. Sateliot also plans to provide connectivity for off-the-grid smartphones in the future.
Sateliot has partnered with Eseye to enable global connectivity, leveraging Eseye's multi-RAT capabilities and partnerships with over 700 operators in 190 countries. Sateliot has also signed space-based roaming agreements to extend cellular coverage in more than 50 countries and with more than 400 companies.
The startup has raised multiple funding rounds including a €30 million loan from European Investment Bank in December 2024.
